Chatlane

Privacy policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

Chatlane is a Chrome extension that adds Statuses, Tags, Reminders and Notes to chats on WhatsApp Web. Your data never leaves your browser and your own Google sync. The developer runs no server and receives no data.

What Chatlane reads

On web.whatsapp.com only, Chatlane reads which chat is open (its identifier, its display name, and whether it is a group) and the list of chats shown, so it can attach your Status, Tags, Reminder and Note to the right chat and draw markers in the chat list. It does not read, copy or store the content of your messages.
